Privacy Policy

PLEASE READ THIS PRIVACY POLICY (THIS “POLICY”) CAREFULLY BEFORE USING THIS SITE.  YOUR USE OF ANY PART OF THE SITE CONSTITUTES YOUR ACCEPTANCE OF AND AGREEMENT TO THIS POLICY AND THE COLLECTION AND USE OF YOUR USER INFORMATION IN ACCORDANCE WITH THIS POLICY.

Military to Ministry (“M2M”) is a Delaware non-stock tax exempt corporation whose mission is to develop mission focused Christ-centered pathways to transition service members from the US Military to ministry.

M2M values the privacy of all end users (“Users”) of M2M’s website, available at www.mil2min.org (the “Site”).  This Policy explains what information M2M collects about Users and how M2M uses that information.  Before using the Site or submitting any information to the Site, please read this Policy carefully for an explanation of how M2M will treat such information.

If you do not agree to this Policy, you are prohibited from using the Site.  Please note that this Policy only applies to information collected on the Site.  If you have further questions about this Policy, please contact M2M at info@mil2min.org.  M2M reserves the right to change the Site and this Policy at any time (see “Changes to the Policy” below).  The Terms and Conditions for the Site are available at www.mil2min.org/terms-and-conditions (the “Terms and Conditions”) and are incorporated by reference herein.

1. User Information

In order to access some of the Site’s services and functionality – including, without limitation, getting involved with M2M, contacting M2M through the Site and making donations – you must provide M2M and, as applicable, M2M’s service providers with certain information (“User Information”) which may include, by way of example and not limitation, the following:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Your mailing address
  • Military service history
  • Your Business/Organization/Institution name
  • Your credit card and bank account information
  • Any other personally identifiable information

In the event that you contact M2M for support through the Site, M2M may also request additional information (which may include User Information) relevant to the support requested.  You are under no obligation to provide such information.  However, M2M cannot guarantee that M2M can provide support in the event that relevant information related to the use of the Site is withheld.  M2M may retain communications relating to support, and/or information drawn from such communications, for statistical and/or reference purposes.  M2M may also contact you for confirmation that you have read and agrees to the Terms and Conditions and this Privacy Policy.

If you choose to access other sites or services with which the Site interacts, or other services with which M2M works, you may also be asked or required to provide additional information, subject to the terms of those sites or services.

2. Other Information and Tracking

Other information that does not personally identify a User (“Other Information”) may be collected when User participates in certain features of the Site.  The Site may use standard technology and other tools, such as cookies – which may include both first party and third party cookies – to automatically collect Other Information, such as your IP address, geographic location, searches, things you click on, browser type, operating system type, the pages you view and request, and the date and time of your visits.  We also use Google Analytics and may use other types of third party data and analytical services.  This information is aggregated and used to improve the Site and the Content (as defined in the Terms and Conditions) and services M2M offers through the Site.

The Site does not currently recognize automated web browser tracking method signal, such as “do not track” instructions.  However, you can change your privacy preferences regarding the use of cookies and other technologies through your browser, including blocking all cookies; however blocking all cookies may affect your use of the Site and other sites and services online, and may prevent you from using all the features and elements of our Site and other sites.

3. Use and Sharing of User Information and Other Information

User Information and Other Information may be compiled and used by M2M (or third party services) for the following purposes:

  • To send information concerning M2M
  • To provide you with Content and services available at or via the Site
  • To solicit and process donations
  • To determine how M2M can better serve its Users
  • To customize the Content provided to Users by M2M or via the Site
  • To analyze User interactions with the Site and improve the Site and M2M’S services
  • To initiate or respond to a subpoena, investigative demand, or other discovery request that is properly served pursuant to state or federal law
  • To take actions necessary to protect and/or to defend M2M’S rights and property (including intellectual property)
  • To identify and protect against fraudulent transactions and misuse or unauthorized use of the Site
  • To enforce M2M’S Terms and Conditions and/or this Policy
  • To provide information, presentations, pictures, videos and illustrations regarding M2M and its programs

M2M may share User Information and Other Information with:

  • Third party services that M2M uses to manage User Information and Other Information
  • Third parties with whom M2M works to enhance the services that M2M provides
  • Third party services that M2M uses to process donations to M2M
  • Third parties for the purpose of verifying Users’ qualifications to access the Site
  • Government agencies (including courts and law enforcement agencies)
  • Parties to civil or criminal litigation or arbitration (including arbitrators and/or mediators involved in litigation or arbitration)
  • Service providers, such as credit-card payment processors, performing services on behalf of M2M or its designees
  • Other third parties under special circumstances, such as complying with legal requirements, preventing fraud, or protecting the safety of Users

M2M will not provide User Information to any third party to manage User Information, or with whom M2M partners to enhance services, unless M2M receives assurances from such third party that it (1) will not use or disclose User Information for purposes of solicitation or direct marketing, and (2) will keep User Information secure using methods comparable to, or more secure than, the security methods used by M2M.  However, M2M does not control third parties, and M2M assumes no liability in the event that a third party breaches its promises regarding confidentiality.  M2M encourages you to contact us at info@mil2min.org if you suspect that your User Information has been comprised by a third party.  M2M is opposed to spam and will not sell User Information for that purpose.

If you do not wish to be contacted by M2M, you can send us a request to info@mil2min.org.

To the extent that you provide User Information or Other Information to M2M concerning third parties, that information will be subject to the same conditions as set forth above.

4. Right to Review, Correct and Delete Personally Identifiable Information

If you provide M2M with User Information, you have the right to:

  • Review such User Information
  • Request that M2M correct any errors, outdated information, or omissions in such User Information
  • Request that your User Information not be used to contact User
  • Request that your User Information be removed from any M2M solicitation list
  • Request that your User Information be deleted from M2M’s records

If you request that your User Information be deleted from M2M’s records, there may be a brief delay in processing that request while M2M verifies that the request is valid and originates from you.

5. Children’s Policy

M2M does not allow submissions of personally identifiable information (including User Information) by any person M2M actually knows is a child under the age of 13.  By submitting information to the Site, you represent and warrant that you are not under the age of 13.  If M2M learns that any personally identifiable information has been submitted by any child under the age of 13, then M2M will take the appropriate steps to delete this information.

6. Security Measures

No method of safeguarding information is 100% secure.  M2M may use a variety of security technologies and procedures to help protect User Information from unauthorized and improper access, use, disclosure, modification, and destruction, but cannot assure that those technologies and procedures will be effective.

7. Linked Sites

Other websites, materials, or locations that may be linked to or from the Site (“Linked Sites”).  Please be aware that this Policy does not apply to Linked Sites, and M2M is not responsible for, nor does M2M have any control over, the privacy practices of Linked Sites or other parties.  M2M encourages you to be aware when you leave the Site to read the privacy statements of each and every web site that collects personally identifiable information. T he Policy applies solely to information collected by M2M.

8. Changes to the Policy

M2M may occasionally, and reserves the right at any time to, update or otherwise revise this Policy.  If M2M does update or revise this Policy, M2M will update the “Last Updated” date at the bottom of this Policy.  You should review this Policy each time you access the Site to stay informed about M2M’S collection, use, and disclosure of User Information and Other Information on the Site.

YOUR CONTINUED USE OF THE SITE CONSTITUTES YOUR AGREEMENT TO THE POLICY AND ANY UPDATES TO THE POLICY.

9. California Privacy Rights

In addition to the rights listed above common to all Users in the United States, as a User residing in California, you have:

  • The right to opt out of the Sharing of your Personal Information for cross-context behavioral advertising;
  • The right to request to limit our use or disclosure of your Sensitive Personal Information to only that which is necessary to perform the services or provide the goods, as is reasonably expected by an average consumer. Please note that certain exceptions outlined in the law may apply, such as, when the collection and processing of Sensitive Personal Information is necessary to verify or maintain the quality or safety of our service.

10. Additional Rights for Users residing in Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon, Nevada, Delaware, Iowa, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Nebraska, Tennessee, Minnesota, Maryland, Indiana, Kentucky, Rhode Island and Montana

In addition to the rights listed above common to all Users in the United States, as a User residing in Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon, Nevada, Delaware, Iowa, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Nebraska, Tennessee, Minnesota, Maryland, Indiana, Kentucky, Rhode Island and Montana you have

  • The right to opt out of the processing of your personal information for Targeted Advertising or profiling in furtherance of decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects concerning you;
  • The right to freely give, deny or withdraw your consent for the processing of your Sensitive Personal Information. Please note that certain exceptions outlined in the law may apply, such as, but not limited to, when the collection and processing of Sensitive Personal Information is necessary for the provision of a product or service specifically requested by the consumer. In Maryland, your Sensitive Personal Information will be collected or processed only if strictly necessary to provide or maintain a specific product or service requested by you.

In Minnesota and Maryland Users also have the right to obtain a list of the specific third parties to which the controller has disclosed the consumer’s personal data

* Note that in some states like Minnesota you have the following specific rights connected to profiling:

  • The right to question the results of the profiling;
  • The right to be informed of the reason that the profiling resulted in the decision; if feasible
  • The right to be informed of what actions the consumer might have taken to secure a different decision and the actions that the consumer might take to secure a different decision in the future;
  • The right to review personal data used in the profiling;
  • If inaccurate, the right to have the data corrected and the profiling decision reevaluated based on the corrected data;

11. Additional Rights for Users Residing in Utah and Iowa

In addition to the rights listed above common to all Users in the United States, as a User residing in Utah and Iowa, you have:

  • The right to opt out of the processing of your Personal Information for Targeted Advertising;
  • The right to opt out of the processing of your Sensitive Personal Information. Please note that certain exceptions outlined in the law may apply, such as, but not limited to, when the collection and processing of Sensitive Personal Information is necessary for the provision of a product or service specifically requested by the consumer.
